VERIFY:geological_stage: stored=sinemurian suggested=pliensbachian confidence=high — Breeden et al. (2021) report that most Scutellosaurus lawleri specimens come from strata ~20-30 m above the base of the Kayenta Formation, the same interval that yielded a detrital zircon U-Pb date of 183.7 +/- 2.7 Ma. That date places the Scutellosaurus-bearing horizon in the Pliensbachian (possibly earliest Toarcian) rather than the Sinemurian.
